Is there a difference in average driving time if you leave BR@ 7pm at Siegen heading to Midcity and leaving BR @ 4pm at the capitol and heading to Algiers?

I left BR at about 5:45 two weeks ago, hit zero traffic in BR or Metairie, and it was exactly an hour to get to Midcity.

The widening of I-10 at the split is huge.

I mean, that was obviously tongue-in-cheek, but he really did set our state back a whooooole lot.

Dude, you got LUCKY. You should have gone straight to Harrah's.
A couple of years ago, I was making regular commutes to NOLA for work and it was always a nightmare. Practically every time there was some sort of horrible wreck on I-10.

Lol at even proposing a comparison between a part industrial, part college town hundreds of years in the making to a master planned, middle manager's wet dream of a suburb.

After growing up in Baton Rouge, I now live and work in the Woodlands with my family.

The original question was whether all of the money coming to Baton Rouge would "actually amount to anything or will we just throw it at pet projects."

The question is really irrelevant to the Woodlands. The Woodlands was master-planned and designed from the start, with new money channeled to the next step in the plan.

Baton Rouge, on the other hand, is like most cities and a big mosaic of things that have been cobbled on or changed over the years.

So in a way it is even more challenging to convert new money into positive change in Baton Rouge than in the Woodlands. You can fall into the trap of trying to fix things that don't need fixing or wavering back and forth on which direction you are heading. It's a whole different scenario and not a legit comparison, for better or worse.

I just spit my beer out when I read this thread topic. Can't believe it's gone this many pages. The answer is an unequivocal no.
