I keep hearing we have all this money headed our way in the great city. Do you think the money will actually amount to anything or will we just throw it at pet projects like we always have in the past?

Most of the woodlands is like the nice part of highland road and half the shopping centers are like perkins row.

Past performance is the best predictor of future behavior. Which in this case means continued Hindenburg.

What are you saying with that link exactly? Why can't these new incoming businesses overcome the poor?

That's not what I've been told on this very site the last few weeks. I was under the impression Baton Rouge was on the up and up.

Have you ever driven around in The Woodlands? They actually have great schools and the tax base to take care of them.

Simple answer to your question...NO.

I'm sure The Woodlands is nice, but why is it the standard that Baton Rouge should aspire to?

Taxes alone and proper spending of them have the woodlands at a different level.

What DOES BR aspire to then? Why not set nice goals?

The woodlands was white flight from downtown houston, a lot of successful business people and engineers. They built such a nice community that companies are moving up there to accommodate them (anadarko, Exxon). So now there is a nice community with lots of jobs nearby. I would say mandeville is the woodlands of louisiana for the most part. Baton Rouge could never be that.

Because you are. Now, why stops you from leaving BR?

I'll never, ever go back to that city.

Depends on who is speaking. I think Baton Rouge is run by a clueless, whiny dictator and has an inept police department that has a union more powerful than the mafia.
