Not gender specific but a definite representation of that person in general.
Messy car usually means you don’t have your shite together. Same with a messy house or workspace.

But it is a horse girl thing 
I basically live in my car and it’s full of dirt, shavings, horse hair, and various pieces of tack and grooming supplies
I’m there every day so I only bother to clean it out if I’m going somewhere. It’s a hopeless case otherwise.

Man’s job is to keep all cars looking good just do this and don’t ask questions that is your responsibility no matter how bad it is

Told about it before…
While sitting out a summer and fall from early college I worked for 1 of the top 60 Buick dealers in the world. The owners wife would drive special edition cars received as gifts from GM and would trash them. Literally eat/drink her fill of stuff and then toss the rest around the car.
Then after a couple of weeks of trashing the car out she would bring it to the service department and complain of the detailers not getting the car clean.

A. Keep up with their vehicle hygiene
B. Get gas
Crazy thing is, they all have an extra 20 minutes to sit in the Starbucks drive through almost daily.
