Wife wants an Acura TLX - OT opinions?

it looks like the metairie Acura dealer has some 2015 pre-owned options for the TLX. If we go this route regardless, is the V6 a must have?
We have a 2008 Camry that we're replacing that has been good to us until lately. It now has an engine valve problem that is causing a significant oil consumption problem. We even got an extended warranty bulletin from Toyota about it but of course our vehicle won't fail their "test". So I'm stuck with adding oil twice between oil change intervals. Also, the evaporator core just sprung a major leak so I've got expensive maintenance that has us looking for a replacement.
We also have a 2004 4Runner that at 260,000 miles has been a champ, knock on wood.
So besides the Acura TLX, any other comparable options? We want to stick with a sedan and price range is up to lower $30's.

Gotta put that premium fuel in those Acuras.

Tell your wife no one really gives a shite that there's a symbol in front her car that she thinks makes her better. Waste of money if you ask me. But if that's whatvyou want, go ahead and waste it.
Go buy a couch from pottery barn and a Louis Vuitton purse too to make her happy.

Acura makes quality vehicles. Just handed over my 2006 MDX with 208k miles to my son. Runs like a champ and hated to hand it over. And NO I didn't put premium gas in. Used regular unleaded from Day 1.
That being said, Acura is basically a Honda with a premium price tag.

Jesus, so mad.
Acura makes quality cars, I had a TL for years. The TLX is a little on the small side compared to a Camry and as another poster said they do recommend premium gas.
If you are in BR I would recommend going to Nola to purchase the car, I had a much better experience there when I bought my TL

Save your money and buy a fully-loaded Honda Accord EX-L.

Very observant, that's exactly what it is.

fiance traded in her TL s-type in May for a TLX. dont get the v6. it has a shitty 9speed 3rd party transmission and the 2.4 has plenty of power with the honda 8speed trans. try to find a 2.4 tech.

Acura makes great cars and are a great value. I have been driving only Hondas and Acuras for the last 20 years. My current vehicle is a 2012 Acura TL. Love this car. I have the technology package which loads the car with just about every tech option you can think of and a killer sound system. It also has a V6 (only option) and I love it.
I may get a TLX as my next car and I would definitely get the V6. Other than that make sure you take advantage of all the options you can that Acura has to offer. You won't pay much more and it is worth it.

You seem to keep your vehicles long enough to where it makes sense to get the good engine. Treat yo self.

Acura is just a Honda with a different logo, right?

It is a luxury vehicle made by Honda just like Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, Lincoln, etc.

Wife has been driving the MDX for years. Purchased at Walker Acura (Kenner). No regrets.
Good luck.

disagree completely.
we were looking at 1-2 year old Accord/Camry's and decided to check out a 3-4 Acura TSX. The feel on the inside was so much nicer than either of the other 2, IMO. Also, bought it private party.
Got a slightly older Acura with similar miles for same as a Camry or Accord. Very happy with our purchase.

It's on par with the premium Accord, price-wise as well

Not a luxury brand.

Boss just got a TLX V6 with Tech package. Nice car and damn quick.
I'm due for a car replacement this year and I'm also looking at the TLX.....not the V6 though. I'm also considering the Genesis and 3 series BMW.
At the moment, if the budgets could fall in place, I'd be all over the Genesis......beautiful car.
