He's been at work for 12 hours. I don't want him to come home and have to work some more.

Is this thing so heavy that I couldn't drag it out by myself?

Dishwashers are light.

Remove the scres securing it to cabinet

turn front leg-screws up enough to clear your tile.

If you have a copper water line detach it first. You should have a long enough power lead to pull it out, if not turn off the breaker and remove the power, then pull the wire out and cap the black wire (in case you need the breaker back on)

Then undo the drain hose and pull it out.

Though a trick I do, is with a long screwdiver I press hard against the motor fins, and usually can work it free that way.

it a dishwasher not a garbage disposal. rinse the plates before you shove them in there.

Because women like you and My wife don't wash the plate off before they stick in the dishwasher. Rinse your plate off in the sink and turn on the garbage disposal then put the clean plate in the dishwasher. That's why your dishwashers clogged and won't drain

they all have little choppng blades in them. It's not food that seizes them up. Usually a broken piece of glass is what I see.

Sometimes a utensal, never food. That blade chops right through food.

I would also check the float switch to be sure it is working before pulling it apart if it is a Whirlpool. Mine stuck on me and leaked.
