Because it's clogged.

I can gladly walk you through it. but I am about to head out the door to another job.

I need to know the make and model.

Just post the model number.

Most likely the pump is stuck. I see that the most on Dishwashers.

feel free to email me nolazachtd@gmail I can help you there to if you would rather not post, but I like these things being searchable, I find many who don't even post benefit from it.

Tell her "No mas agua aqui!"

That's what I do with mine.

Well no shite.

I took it apart but can't find any obstructions.

And by saying took it apart I took that little filter out. Nothing under it.

Can you hear the circulation pump come on?

Does your model have two pumps (smaller drain pump) or one and a reversing solenoid?

Usually you need to pull the dishwasher out and put it on it's back and pull the motor off to clear the obstruction.

It's not as hard as that sounds though.

Is he gonna be mad? You better wash his favorite beer mug by hand before he gets home.

well, without the proper info, I can't help.

What affects a Whirlpool in this case wouldn't affect a Fisher/Paykel or a Bosch.

check the drain hose underneath. It might have a kink in it that you need to straighten out

I did that earlier, looks fine.

Is this thing so heavy that I couldn't drag it out by myself?

If you have one of those, then it would be my first choice.

If you have a separate drain pump then I would think the pump is seized.

this is the more common two pump layout.
