For me, I've always wanted a jeep and never had the money to get one. Now that I've got two in diapers it'll be 5-10 years til I can get one putting me at that mid life crisis point. But it's something i am and have been planning on. What say you, ot?

Go with your plan, the "youngsters" that will call it a "mid life crisis" will probably be just the ones that are just jealous of what you have.

The modern cars are better in literally every single measurable way.

Just how big of a hipster are you?

Except for the reasons buy them. Unless it is a luxury brand sports car, you're just trying to catch some eyes from fellow trash

The mid-life line REALLY pisses me off. From age 34-40 I raced motocross, then I got a couple sportbikes and switched to roadracing for a couple years until I hurt my back. Every car I've driven from age 16 to the present (48) has been either a muscle car or a sports car. Then last year I bought a 911 Carrera, and suddenly I've hit a "mid-life crisis."

Well at least it should now be obvious to everyone you have no fricking clue and are just being obtuse.

It's hard to avoid. Last year I got a '69 Corvair and boy, does it turn some heads! I can basically get any chick half my age with it!

Mid-life crisis or not, it's cool!

My dad says it's not a "mid-life" crisis, it's a "first time I can afford something like this" crisis.

Because by the time you're in your forties you should be old enough and mature enough to know blowing money on a car that you thought was cool when you were a kid isn't necessarily the wise thing to do.

my point was when you think of mid-life crisis the Vette is the car that comes to mind. Not so much with the new ones but with every model they made prior to this one.

I never considered it a mid life crisis when I bought mine. Heck, the wife wanted it more than I did. Man has to know when not to argue with their s/o.

I think it's mid-life crisis if it coincides with an affair with a girl 20 years younger.
