I loved Calculus and was introduced to it at Woodlawn HS in 1970.

I honestly had more trouble with algebra II than any calculus class. I also had a really shitty teacher for the alg.

The people I knew who had issues with calc were the ones that had a weak grasp of the prereqs.

I did well in calc and linear algebra but never got Diffy Qs. I was told it would be easy but it just never clicked. After that, I quit taking math. I didn't need it for my majors nor my future work, I just liked math but found my limit without more effort than I wanted to put into it.

it isn’t. It’s algebra with rules.

I would Say it’s the precursor knowledge.

You really gotta know everything leading up to it.

It's not that hard if you have a good grasp of the prerequisites and put in a little bit of effort.

To each his own. I wouldn't dream of taking calculus, maybe I could learn it, maybe not. Math isn't my cup of tea. My ex who made like a 18 on her ACT, made a 100 A - in quantitative analysis, which was the hardest (by far) class in her curriculum. The thing was that she was taking the class with pre-med, pre-dental, med techs etc., all really sharp people and mostly straight A students. The professor's method of grading was to take the highest grade and add enough points to it to make it 100. the problem was my ex made 6 straight 100s, which had never been even approached in his class. The class hated her. The point being is that we each have our strong and weak points. She struggled in La history.
