Tanglewood and Morgan Place. We lived in Tanglewood most of my childhood 1978-1993 I think. Morgan Place my last few years of HS.

Denham is really bad. They’re putting in subdivisions everywhere without any thought to infrastructure. Reminds me of Broussard.

Yep

And just look at those fine hotel options like Oyo, Carom Inn, Days Inn, Plantation Inn, etc.

Just mind-boggling

Those neighborhoods down Hooper were only a matter of time. They've been falling one by one since Sharon Hills in the 90s. Same with down Greenwell Springs towards Flannery.

It is what it is. It might have been different if that area existed a few miles north in Pride but you can't be that close to Mickens/Glen Oaks etc

The shite they're doing on Buddy Ellis is mind-boggling stupid. That will be a massive drain on Denham and Walker schools in 10 years, and is already an infrastructure shortfall.

I guess that's the mantality of a Centralite. They just let their communities get destroyed and shrug it off while developers make $$$$. I'm guessing Bodi White and Starn's kids are living large. "it is what it is".

The apartments near Central Walmart have been there longer than I’ve been alive.

So what?

That should be used an example of why not to do that again. Yet, here you are shrugging it off?

They've built lots of higher density developments than they should have in the past 10 years. Even neighborhoods of SFHs with small lots and small homes are stupid AF out there.

What are you doing about it? There's really nothing you can do. I watched trash move down towards our once nice middle class neighborhood as a teen but we couldn't exactly just buy up all of the property

Next time you just move way further away from it where it won't impact you in your lifetime.

I’ll bet you have something against high end retailers like dollar general and family dollar? Nothing says fancy like a dollar store.

We live in Geismar. Sold our business in Gonzales. Bought acreage in Brookhaven Mississippi. Soon to move away from Ascension Parish. Had enough of the traffic, bad roads, lack of infrastructure and taxes.

That's what I'm talking about.

Demand that ALL new construction be A) big lots B) big houses C) not increase flooding to surrounding homes.

Create a fund to start buying up Central Woods properties and start ripping them out and replacing with homes that meet standards mentioned above. Stop being defeatest about it.

That's what you can do.

You are moving from Geismar to Brookhaven? I would rather live in McComb. They recently got a Starbucks and a Chick-fil-A! lol

Tanglewood, Carmel Acres, Monheghan etc down Hooper are all kinda suspect at this point. That will continue moving down Hooper. You're probably good for 5-10 years but 20? Outlook not so favorable

Exactly. It was a fine place to grow up but I've watched the hood creep at least since the 90s.
