It’s so much easier not to have to ground it.

I stopped grinding whole beans once we had a kid. The noise scares the hell out of him and I don't feel like causing a 2 year old to have a meltdown just to have fresh grounds. Haven't really noticed much of a difference in taste that it's something I'm going to care much about.

It takes an extra 30 seconds. Literally.

You are scooping coffee no matter what, so you just scoop beans into the grinder, press "on", then dump the grinder bin into the coffee maker.

It is the easiest additional step imaginable. The ROI is definitely there if the noise isn't an issue.

Reading this thread, some observations

Starbucks is not coffee
K Cups do not contain coffee
Artificial flavorings are not in coffee
Dessert ingredients are not in coffee

Coffee can be fresh ground, pre ground, and some instant
Coffee can include dairy (18% Table cream is best)
Coffee can include natural sugar (Sorghum / honey / etc)

If you do not understand this (coffee lol poor to coffee snob) you should drink something else.

grinding your own coffee

Finally something in common with the cool kids. $20+ for micro roast beans is some hipster shite but it is so good.
