Why do poor people have so many kids?

And they seem to have them earlier too. Apparently upon learning that the first kid is expensive and a lot of responsibility, they keep having them. One bad decision on top of another.
Do they not learn from their mistakes? Or do they not think they are mistakes? It's not like we live in Cambodia where people need kids to work the fields and take care of them when they are old.
The world will not end due to nuclear war. It will end because the poors will outnumber everybody else 100 to 1.

1) Poor decision making abilities
2) I work with colleagues who make a good living along with their spouses who make good livings, and they still comment on how much of a drain on their budget it is to have even 1 child.
You can imagine the drain on 2 uneducated parents with low incomes jobs having 4 children before age 24.

this is going to sound fricked, but in many cases it's true
if you live a life knowing that you're going to be poor, trash, etc there are only so many things that you can cling to as your's and things that make you happy. kids are a way for many poor people, ESPECIALLY single mothers with worth issues, to have that thing

due to work and geography i hang around a lot of poor people
it's a lot more true than most people realize
also many girls (and i mean young girls having babies) get super attention when pregnant and when the baby is little. i know some who get addicted to that attention (which is really sad and kind of fricked in the big picture)

I think it's due to 2 different things:
1. Poor people are generally unhappy and having children (and sex) is one of the only things that bring happiness to their lives.
2. Some poor people get paid more money for each child that they have, so it is a way to "earn" more money.
