re: Why do people use remote start

Also, my phone for Bluetooth. Even if I'm 5 yards away, when I remote start it, all the electronics get going that much faster and my music will automatically play when I open the door and my phone will connect for phone calls etc. Versus having to sit in my car for silence of ten seconds. Not a big deal and total first world problem but that's another reason not mentioned why I at least remote start it

The range of the remote start on the fords is pretty awful.
I put an aftermarket start on my previous f150 and it was 10x better.
initially my remotes range was incredible...now it varies from day to day in the winter...summer is ok, but not like it was new.
tech guy says it's the remote, but I'm thinking no
the remote doesn't get cold, and that's where the problems start or don't. sometimes it's so cold, it'll turn over but won't start...a few degrees warmer and it pops....
the car is too old to get a new one which are still pricey

I use mine primarily in the winter. I can start it from inside, finish getting ready. Then when I get in, it's warm along with my seats and steering wheel.

Better yet, my MIL won't unlock the trunk of her car until she stands a foot away. Same with the door. Might as well just use a key. I'll help her shop for her groceries and I will stand there with a buggy full of groceries while she fumbles for the key. Poor MIL just can't adjust. But, I enjoy her company so I don't bring it up.

OP...how miserable must your life be that you start a thread bitching about how people use their own remote start

not miserable at all. It was just an odd observation that makes 0 sense to me.

Idk that's silly.
I use mine from my bedroom BEFORE I shower when its freezing outside and my car is toasty as frick and seat warmers on blast when I get in.
Its so awesome.

During the summer when buying groceries, it's a good idea to chill the cars interior and seats.
During winter the seat warmers turn on so my balls don't freeze off.
