when they're 5 steps away walking up to their car? I'll use mine to get the ac or heat running, but what's the point if you're 5 seconds from getting in your car?

When I get out my office door i hit it. By the time I am seated in my car my engine has already settled down in RPMs and I am ready to go.

I'm talking people that are literally right at there car. I've noticed a lot of people doing this recently, and for some reason it bothers me

Do you start your car right when you get in it or do you relax for a few moments and then start it?

Could be someone's first few days with it and they're still excited about it. Settle down.

You have to turn the key when you get in anyway.

They think it's cool. One of my friends uses his remote while standing next to his truck.

If it's freezing outside, I can understand using it to let the engine warm up. Other than that, I don't really get it.

Because if they use it from far away and you don't put 2 and 2 together and know it's them with that cool option on their car, what's the point?

Not if they have keyless push button type.

Saves them an average of 5 seconds a start, averaging 3 car starts per day. That's 5,475 seconds, or just over 91 minutes a year. Average that over a lifetime of driving a car (40 years). Wouldn't you appreciate an extra 2.5 days of your life before you die?

It's good to listen to your engine start and run from outside your car every once in a while.

Starting it a few seconds before you get in will give your NAV system and blue tooth a chance to get started and be ready immediately when you get in. Might as well let it get started while you are walking to the car rather than sitting in the car waiting for it.

Remote start is awesome in the winter up north because people have to let their cars run to defrost before they can go anywhere. That way you don't have to walk out of your house and it can be running while still locked
