Seems these cockroaches would have been much less likely to burn shite in the daytime.

Only thing I can see is maybe they assumed they'd have to deal with stuff all day and still have to deal with stuff throughout the night. The crazy stuff seems to happen at night, so if you think it was going to happen no matter what, just give the decision late and only deal with it for 12 hours instead of 24. Not saying that's correct, just a guess.

The sad thing is they think it will. The "white man" was sitting behind his computer watching the riots and cussing the Saints last night.

I heard a good line of thinking for the late announcement decision:

Allow working, law-abiding citizens time to get off work and get to their houses safely. Having riots in the middle of the day is what puts a lot of store owners in a pinch.

IMO, they went ahead and announced last night...

1. Inherently giving them "a couple hours to protest" then to head on home (why should normal citizens and their kids be wandering the streets after 10 pm?)

2. "Normal citizens" should be tired, and should have a desire to get their kids home about 10 pm.

3. This would allow police to best handle the leftovers. (If announced at 9 a.m., this would've been going on all day, before "a reasonable cutoff time"

4. Cold weather making it less comfortable.

Thugs are thugs, day or night, though.

Why would you risk the lives of hardworking people trying to get to their jobs with these high strung protestors looking for scapegoats?

Doing this at night lets everyone get home safe and it further demonstrates the ruthlessness and savagery that we all know is there fully erupt and then come Friday we will all be shocked when we watch videos of more animals fighting over a 19" TV.

Who needs a 19" tv?

Yes, they would have robbed, looted, and murdered during the day, then burnt it down at night.

It was a well calculated intelligent decision to release the verdict when they did
