I know some here might think I'm a douche for having that car but I still have that car.

The cool thing about that vette in your post is that the back glass popped out too. It was like having a convertible with a roll cage.

I helped restore a car just like that one in my youth.

My buddy had one of those 80's Monte Carlo's. We drove from Monroe to Dallas with the tops off. That made snorting coke an ordeal. Distinctly remember pulling over & doing it under the florescent lights of a self serve car wash in Marshall, TX.

Driving down the road, you could hold a joint or a cigarette straight up and the ashes would get sucked out a couple of inches below the opening. Never had to use the ash trays.

Yes it does, but with the t-tops off and the back window out, it is like sitting in the middle of a tornado.

My 300Z never leaked. Convertibles disappeared in the 70s. TTOPS took their place. Then conv. Came back and ttops disappeared.

I had a 1985 Mustang GT & a 1990 300 ZX, both new, the t-tops always leaked eventually, the Ford practically from the start..the Nissan a much better car in all regards.

T-Tops I can understand the dated look, and defects, as to why you don;t see them today..

I'm actually more surprised why ragtops and moonroofs aren't made as oft in today's cars as yesteryears..insurance liability? durability? etc..

Not a true t top though. The entire top part comes off over passenger/driver side. It's in two panels though so you can just take one or both off.

I've yet to take the freedom top off mine. Nice to have it as an option though.

My parents had a car like that when I was little. These were the days before car seats. I would stand on the back seat while my dad drove fast. Was awesome.

Three pages and no one mentions how freaking hot they were to handle when you were taking them off on a summer day. They were a pain to handle and store in the trunk. The sunroof is infinitely more efficient. Americans are too lazy to do things manually.

They were really easy to take off and put on. I could pull both tops off my ZX while sitting in the drivers seat and reach them into the hatch. I could also put them back on without getting out if the car.

Mine never leaked. They did get cracked by a girl outside of The Catarie one night. She was pissed at me and slammed her fist into both of them.
