We didn't get it here in SC until about 7 years or so ago.

ETA: It was actually closer to 11 years, hard to believe it's been around that long...I was looking at their site, they are planning to expand their Tampa-based brewery so expansion to more states may follow.

Mockler Beverage is fighting for it, trying to get it here before football season. The ball is in Yuengling's court.

As soon as we get Yuengling, no one will ever want Yuengling

Yeungling is a great cheap beer and a beach staple.

Thread hijack: This is a new favorite.

Cold Smoke Scotch Ale from Kettle House in Missoula, MT.

Truth. My wife drank it through college and always wanted it here. We traveled back to her college haunts and, well, meh.

Some friends brought a case down and I think we threw them in an ice chest for a crawfish boil because we didn't want them.

Nostalgia tends to change perceptions of taste.

Beer figs crack me up.

Yuengling is excellent. I'll be drinking that shite up when it becomes available here.

My "goto" beer at home is the Shiner variety pack. But I usually switch out the IPA/Ruby Redbird for another Black Label Lager or Kosmos.

Yuengling is a respectable choice though

Because you touch yourself at night.

If I were going to pine for a beer that's not available locally, it'd be either-

Must be near Lancaster County, it's starting to rub off on your speech pattern, Brother Jenkins.

Well I don't even drink beer anymore...but I'm glad you feel the need to call someone a fig because they don't smoke the same cigarettes as you. Dolt.

Friends in Ohio raved about it for years, as I did with Shiner Bock I suppose. I found some one summer in Perdido Key and thought it was shite. I did like the B&T though.

Well I'm glad you're glad, podner.

"Beer figs" are people who could be presented with the most delicious nectar of the gods and would immediately call it "weak" or "overrated" just as a snooty kneejerk self-serving posture. But maybe you already know that and are just tired of being called that?

It has nothing to do with actual homosexuality, Mr. PC. Unless they are actually gay, which would be a strange coincidence because beer figs are almost never literally gay. By any definition. What a strange conundrum.

(Thanks for making me crave a cigarette BTW. fig.)

Shiner and Yeungling both kinda suck. But they both are what they are. No reason to get excited about either one. But they're cheap and better than the more popular cheap beers.

You're all wrong. They sell it at Tony's Liquor on Line Avenue in Shreveport. But Great Raft blows that pisswater away.

Kidding. I like Yuengling, but GR is much better.

I can remember when you couldn't get Coors in Louisiana. My friend's dad used to bring it (and Shiner)from Texas to load up his beer pantry; we'd swipe a few sixes and go drink it in the wood by our house. Good times!

Graft Raft is really doing a great job at brewing good beer.
