For public schools? Probably. You can't have Braxton hanging out with Braeylene or Shalamaquantze. Something might happen to hurt his chances at a baseball scholarship and then what was the use of all that travel ball?

Well... Braxton joined travel ball so he wouldn't have to play rec ball with Shalamquantze... so no way we gonna allow them to sit together on the bus!

I hated carpool, so we moved into the bussing district, one year the bus driver(s) were so incompetent I wouldn’t take my lunch at work until 2:30 - so I could go get the kids real quick

Now we homeschool

Out of the few years the kids rode the bus we had about 12 bus drivers - and only one was good but he didn’t last long bc he was promoted

Some parents think their kids are too good for a bus.

Same shitheads are the ones getting kids their own apartments for their freshman year at college instead of spending a year or two in the dorms like normal people.

In our city, the bus routes are only for kids that live outside of city limits. So the kids have to be picked up or walk home. Should I expect my 4 year old daughter to walk across town by herself?

We have a group of parents (and I’m at a high school) that start lining up in the parking lot at about 11:00 am. School gets out at 2:20 pm.

I asked one of them one day why they come out so early and they said, “Well (insert kid’s name) just doesn’t like to ride the bus, so here I am”.

Well... you can show up in line at 2:20 pm and the kid doesn't have to ride the bus.

Put a glob on my hand and started pulling and tugging at it. Then it started to get tingly, almost burning. I couldn’t make it stop. It was awful, I tried to wash it off, wipe it off, blow it off, only made it worse.

One of my first times I used some kind of shampoo or liquid soap, some of it ended up getting in my pee hole where it burned the first few times I peed afterwards...I thought I had given myself an STD somehow

My parents would’ve told me to get over my shite. Or find a friend to drive me home (which I eventually did).

I just found it funny that it was the kid dictating the situation.

Now do it for a kid spending over an hour on the bus twice a day every school day

What kind of deal is this?? Do you live 30 miles from the school?

My kids both are close to the first stop and they spend on a normal day 15-20 min on the bus, going each way.

I rode public school busses when I was in middle school. My kids won’t go through the same thing

Tell us you weren’t one of the cool kids without telling us you weren’t one of the cool kids.

Riding the bus was just more time to hang out with my friends.

I take my kids fishing or hunting a lot after school. I pickup at 2:45 or bus brings them to house after 4. I choose the earlier times to get to where we need to get

My kids don't go to a school with buses. I'm basing this on what time I see kids get dropped off in my neighborhood when I'm getting home from work around 5:00. It might be that Collierville should have 2 public high schools and the busses are too crowded, I don't know

Edit. I don't live that far from the high school in terms of miles because Collierville isn't huge, but it is across town.

Our grandsons go to a small rural school and only live about 3 miles from the school but the bus that works their area doesn’t drop kids at their house, it only drops at the entrance of the subdivision which is over a half mile from their home, we don’t want our 6 and 9 year old having to walk that far, morning, evening, rain, shine, hot or cold.

It’s the same people that wait for hours in a Chik-Fil-A drive thru.

When my kids were in school it would require us getting up a hour earlier to be able to have them ready catch the bus, and they would typically get home a hour or more later than if we picked them, dropping off and picking up in the car line was much more convenient.

Lol! No one wonder kids are so damn soft these days. I learned valuable lessons and have great memories riding the bus. I did live in a white area though so no one was murdered by crips or bloods

I have a nanny for that but bc I live less than a mile from the school my kids aren’t allowed to ride the bus. Kids two houses down from me are allowed to and have to walk past my house to the bus stop… someone on our street tried to fight it with the school board but I got shot down.
