A couple of people have mentioned this.

Are y’all’s wives that hideous you need to go to an elementary school to see a good looking woman? Sounds pathetic.

We may be married but we ain’t dead, baw. You sound pathetic. Nothing wrong with appreciating art!

ETA: although my post was a joke, there’s nothing wrong with appreciating a good looking woman, you’re naive if you think your old lady isn’t checking out dudes too

ETA- wtf ever happened to riding your bicycle to school and back home?
Parents are overprotective these days (the TV made them so) and it seems they don’t want their kids seen riding a bike to school.
It makes them look like Poors if they can’t take their kid to school like all the other “Jones” do in their shiny, overpriced SUV.

What does it matter? How does this impact you?

Plenty of kids do this, but not everyone lives close to school. Okay kids, be careful on 5 mile walk to school in the dark! Mommy will be here checking Facebook.

I’ve found that the best time to show up in the carpool like is like 10 min after dismissal. You’re last in line but it’s been moving a while and there’s no wait.

Sorry, but when I was a kid and walked to school/home my parents didn't have to worry about Mrs Jones running over with that shiny, overpriced SUV while she was on Instagram.

Some kids have other shite they need to do after school. Homework plus extra curricular activities.

Some parents have to pick up kids from 2 different schools.

It’s always the posters that don’t have kids seem to have all the solutions to parenting obstacles.

Glad y’all already have it all figured out. Parenting will be a breeze for you.

Yes.

You wouldn’t care “why” people choose to do carpool, you just think kids should ride the bus. Why does it matter “how” a kid even gets to school?

Plenty of examples.
Bus driver is a piece of shite
Bullies on bus
Exposure to covid
Exposure to language or other things they don’t like
Bus arrives 6:30 am
Bus takes over an hour
Kid not eligible due to open enrollment
Kid has special need
Kid has physical impairment
Schedule requires it
Parents like spending time with kid

Buses still exist.

Is it because they don’t want Braxton on a bus for whatever reason?

My daughters get out of school at 330 and are on the bus for an hour before they get home. On days they have practice or dance classes, theres no way in hell Id get them there on time if they rode the bus that afternoon. If they dont have anything going on that day, then they ride the bus.

Hey, you do what works for you. I had to pay for daycare after school in elementary since i couldn’t reliably pick them up or be home when the bus dropped off every time, and each kid could only do one extracurricular at a time to prevent overscheduling. I was just suggesting a way to save time in carpool since i do that now and then these days. Didn’t mean to trigger you.

In my case It seemed a lot better than walking the 7 miles there, and 7 miles back,
