I like to get on early so I can sit back in my chair, throw my headphones on before someone sits next to me and wants to talk and then watch a movie.

Ya but I'd rather have it in the overhead and the under the seat are for my ... Feet

Also the earlier you get in the earlier you can fall asleep. My goal when traveling is to be asleep before takeoff and wake up when we bump on the landing

It don't get it either. Only had to check at the gate a couple of times. As long as you have a decent layover it isn't an issue.

People who don't get the OP haven't travelled much or are really slow in the brains.

Same thing happens at the luggage carousel... everyone crowds the carousel even though it slows the process down. It's like people can't ID their luggage from more than 5 feet away.

I travel light & put my bag under my seat if needed. I went to England for 10 days with only my bookbag from law school.

Y'all had books at Southern?

I figured you just had Crayons and looseleaf coloring books.

Umm, overhead. That's why I'm in a hurry to get on. I don't want to check my fricking bag and delay myself 40 minutes as a result.

I've never had an issue with carryon space. If someone has their oversized duffle bag in the way I just get the flight attendant to put it with the oversized luggage/strollers.

Then you don't travel at all. Do you have any idea how many times I've had to check my carry-on due to counts who put their purses in overhead? Probably 40+. Nothing pisses me off more than that. It's ridiculous.

And frick anyone who puts their purse or backpack up there.

I usually fly in my own plane.

But when I need to fly commercial I am pounding as much liquor as I can before I board. Usually last 5 people or so on the flight

The flight attendant is more lenient if she doesn't she you pound a bunch of doubles then get on board and order more.

can't afford the $25 to check a bag?

Yeah, but sometimes I can't afford 40 fricking minutes. I had an interview once, tons of counts put their purses in overhead, and it took literally an hour and a half for me to get my carry-on from baggage claim, barely making it to the interview in time. It's not the money, it's the time a-hole.

I always prefer to check. I don't like lugging around all my things when I don't have to. It's one less thing to have to account for, and that is a good thing when traveling. Just my personal preference.

My goal is to always arrive at the terminal right as the plane is boarding, so I can walk right in without having to sit in the waiting area.

Another person who only boards 2 planes a year.

I want to get my regulation sized carry on before some dumb arse with a expedition sized backpack hogs up the overhead bin. Or the dumb upidy bimbo who has the oversized purse but has 5 shopping bags in tow that somehow all get passed the gate agent.

I notice that is a Zone 1 or Zone 2 problem with the over sized woman with a half dozen shopping bags. Not as bad with Sky or Prem boarding. Try to get a skymiles card.

Why don't they board from back to front? Wouldn't that make more sense??
