They don't like paying for G-Town's free lunches. Hence..going Dutch.

I've always heard that they were going to build a high school near Gálvez Primary.

They could, they used to talk about building one across from the Middle School in the cow pasture where that huge arse house is on 933.

"All the new stuff" Dutchtown gets is a poorly planned mile of strip malls and fast food restaurants.

In all fairness, that describes what passes for growth in the whole god-forsaken Parish, not just Dutchtown. Don't sell the rest of AP short.

From what I understand the school board bought the land near prairieville primary and they're gonna build a high school there at some point.

You don't like Tony's ? Salt, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper?

Thank you. People who don't like Tony's don't like those seasoning and I don't understand why.

I love Tony's. I was using those seasoning, plus onion powder, for years before I found Tony's. What's not to like?

They've talked about several locations including a couple that subdivisions have gone up in. A long time ago they were talking the area where Mom's Bar is but a subdivision went up there.

Now you serve me an étoufée or bisque with an oil based roux rather than butter... And I'll kill your whole family and banish your legacy from history. Or just not eat it.

This!!!! I've have some Monrovians argue this with me, but butter bases roux=etoufee and bisque.

Not a fan of red jambalaya either. It is what it is, but I've always preferred regular jambalaya(no tomatoes). I do prefer it moist, but not soupy. It amazes me when people from LA can't even get it right!

Getting back to the topic, why is jambalaya such a big deal in Gonzales ? I know the jambalaya fest is held there, but it seems that is all they cook around there. Fund raisers, schools, car shows all cook jambalaya. Would it be a crime to fry some fish or BBQ some thing??

Something made famous in NOLA I think. They add some kind of tomatoes or paste to it to make it come out red.

Cause they do it consistently better than everyone else? Why not Gonzales?
