I dirve a Tacoma and barely get 20mpg.
Though I don't really think gas is high.
I've been places thatmake it seem cheap.
(I was paying $4.35/gallon in Cali last year)

well.
Your Tacoma has some issues then.
damn.
With an auto I can get 22-25 if I try to.
But usually 18-20.

I have a 4x4 Eccoboost that can get 23 HWY. But let's be real, my average stays around 12-16.
I have always had worse gas life than that so it doesn't bother me. I don't really even know how much it would take to fill it from E bc it's not often and frankly I don't pay much attention to it.
If you're going to worry about gas you should have known what you were getting yourself into with a vehicle like that.

Me! Just spent 160$ going to Birmingham and back (from Baton Rouge)
Actually both of us do.
I need a big car. No worries.

They claim 16 mpg (17 combined), but I can't help holding out on the shift point. The roof rack and parachute on the back can't help. Just got my tires, so we'll see...

Yes. My trailblazer guzzles gas

I have a 2005 GMC. It gets 13-15 mpg in the city. In 05 gas was roughly $2.00 a gallon so it wasn't a big deal then. My next vehicle will definitely be a 20+ mpg in the city. Hopefully close to 30 mpg.

Can't help posting a pic of that truck, can you?

I have a Ford pickup that's sub-20, but only drive it when the 8ft bed is full.
The responses I see below have an eery sort of Easter Island vibe to them.
Our modern analog of the Easter Islander chiefs who, understanding that most of the trees on the island had already been harvested to allow the moving of the giant heads toward the beach, kept on ordering new construction of the giant heads.
Were they that stupid, or just so consumed with the idea that "hey everyone's looking at me and I'd rather look good and die of starvation than not look good and provide for future generations of my progeny".
Any research into what happened on Easter Island will show you just what a great philosophy that was. It went something like this:
Depletion of resources/collapse/starvation/cannibalism/extinction of humans on Easter Island.
So yeah, you're not poor and you can drive 1000 miles a week in a truck that gets 8 mpg.
Wow. That truck is your stone head statue and you must be, like those ancient chieftains, very proud.
I am duly impressed with your $$ and your truck, but your myopia and lack of vision is utterly disappointing. Those who don't learn history are doomed to repeat it or something.
I say the less money I give the man, the better.
Thus I drive fuel efficient vehicles, insulate my house, and use as little energy as possible.
YMMV

Nice truck Gaston! My F150 SCrew with 35's gets a whopping 12 MPG, but I LOVE my truck.

Tundra. 15+ MPG. I don't drive all that much (9,000 miles/year)so it's not too bad.

It's finished. I took some 'trucksies' to document the final state.
Next, and last, photos will be from High Sierra road trip I built it up for (outside of the roof rack).

What do you have? Do you cringe when you pump gas?
'03 Tundra. 16/17 mpg. I use to cringe when I was putting about 700 miles a week on the odometer. Since retirement kicked in I only fill up about once a month now. Starting using ethanol free once retired. Cost on the average, about twenty-five cents more a gallon than regular unleaded.

The computer says 14 in my jeep. I live a mile and a half from work so it doesn't seem that bad because I don't have to fill up very often.

All three of my vehicles are sub 20

I get about 14-16 mpg in my wrangler
