I've done them, had a blast... But would avoid jamaica.
check out cozumel or playa del carmen
make sure you choose a higher end one that serves call liqour or you'll be drinking very cheap booze

Subtle brag is subtle.

I did it a few years ago and I loved it. Will never do another cruise again. I went to a resort 20 miles south of Cancun called Beach Azul. It was smaller, only 90 rooms, but that made it better.

So really, just a brag thread.
Sandals is pretty good, FWIW.

What's your yearly vacation budget and how many vacations do you take a year?
I don't know if I would like an all-inclusive with my g-f if it was going to drain my vacay budget for the entire year, but if you still have some left for other stuff then yeah they're a blast.
But understand anything you spend on her is probably money down the drain.

Did one in Cabo San Lucas. It was alright, the food was kinda meh. I think from now on I'll just book a resort and find my own restaurants. If I'm going to another country I'd like to experience some of their culture.

If you want to do all the touristy stuff then go that route. If you want to experience the actual culture, I suggest not doing all inclusive

I've stayed at Sandals Dunn's River. While I enjoyed the resort, I wouldn't recommend Jamaica because it's nothing but a giant slum.

Did it in Dominican for honeymoon....loved it. Was my first time doing all in clusive and would do again as long as it is a higher end one.

I stayed at a middle of the road one in the DR once. I wouldn't do it again. Wasn't my cup of tea.

Jamaica is a dump. I been there, playa del carmen area, and cozumel.
For laid back, good diving n snorkeling, cozumel.
For party atmosphere, mainland mexico

It seems like each year we do something "big" and I have been wanting to hit Excellence at Playa Mujeras for quite some time now....Paris last year, Disney three times this year, Disney cruise next year, Hawaii in 2016...looks like it will be my retirement trip at this rate
