Use to be able to bring your report card in for free Krispy Kreme donuts. The good ole days...
We used to get a stamp card for free happy meals or a card for free visits to the zoo/aquarium.

that type reinforcement never works.
B - belt whoopin
C - cigarette burn to the arm
D - broken appendage
F - put up for adoption

Dated an older chick who had some kind of elective class in the office. She would always steal letterhead to print my own report cards so I could keep laying pipe.

All the way through high school! Remember the first "D" on report card in 10th grade. Typically my parents would both look at it and ma would sign it with a pat on the back. Pop would say, "OK, but get better or you won't make it in college".
On the occasion of the "D", it didn't go down like I described. The next six weeks were hell! Made no lower than a "B" for the remainder of high school.

My kids school does 1, 2, or 3 for grades and three letters which two of them mean satisfactory or consistently. I don't know what the bad letter is because I don't have idiot kids. She just got hers last week and it was all C and 3.

damn. that really wouldve sucked. i was a 3.5 gpa somehow despite just flat out refusing to do homework unless it was gonna bring my grade down to a C. if my parents wouldve seen the amount of things i just flat out didn't turn in that caused me to drop from an A to a B i probably wouldve had a stricter after school schedule

You'd have to cipher that for me. It was easy back when...A/B/C/D/F and a check mark or X with comment for "conduct"! Of course we did have the +'s and -'s too.

I feel the same way. The first report card I saw had all Cs on it, and I about lost it. My wife had to explain that they don't do traditional letter grades in lower elementary, and C was the best. 1-3 is the same way, 1 the worst, 3 the best.

I remember practicing my dad's signature one time in grade school. Couldn't pull it off so I just handed the card to him and took the arse whoopin'.

Same here, but mine was low side of 3.0. Not a good studier. One exception was HS Calculus (wasn't called that??), that shite just killed me and I was fairly good in the rest of math as well as in college.
Managed a "pity" B at first report card, but confessed to counselor, if I had to complete this course, I would likely be 35 before earning a diploma. We did some shuffling and moving to shuffle an extra chem course. He made a joke and still remember his first reply...look on the bright side..."at 35 you'll be a much better ball player"!

our kids school has online access to the gradebook, but they still get actual report cards, although it's a printed sheet of paper, not a card. Still have to sign and return.
My kindergarten daughter doesn't get real grades, but just an S for Satisfactory or an NI for Needs Improvement. But starting in first grade, they get A/B/C/D/F. My third grader gets regular letter grades.
This 1-3 stuff? What Snowflake Academy do your kids attend?

No worry with idiocy with those grades. Just beware of the snowflake marks!

Posted on 3/30/17 at 4:15 pm to BayouNation
not only do I remember them, but I remember how to alter them, in a realistic fashion

My second grader gets report cards, and has straight As.
