I'm not sure I've ever seen something like this. Sure, dietary stuff changes, but over decades.
World-renowned medical outfits have repeatedly flip flopped on the mask wearing, and frequently it's premised on stuff like "could provide a false sense of security."
At least with hydrochloroquine it's a mixture of political motivations and conflicting studies/surveys that keep coming out. The back and forth we see on masks appears to be almost entirely arbitrary.

There is soooooooo much confusion and contradictions in all of this its no great wonder why people don't know what to do anymore.
Don’t wear masks because they are for the healthcare workers.
Wear masks to protect others from you perhaps being infected.
Wear masks to protect yourself from being infected
Masks don't do anything
You must wear a mask if you are in public
Nobody knows where to go with any of this because our leaders are CLUELESS, and just running their mouths to show they are “doing something” about it.
It’s all become a bunch of nonsense.

More of the same contradictory bullshite... you don’t need a mask, but healthcare workers do.
Why would a mask not work for someone in public but work for someone in the hospital?

Use some common sense please.
The CDC is not over the WORLD like WHO. CDC is not over third world countries like WHO is.
CDC isn't over third world countries that have multiple areas that don't even have basics like running water like WHO. Much less an adequate supply of PPE and health care clinics and facilities as well as health care workers for that matter.
So...knowing that....couldn't it be possible that WHO is gonna have just a tad bit different basis for their recommendations??

I think its mostly driven by fear of litigation or being held responsible in some way. In the workplace, someone comes down with Covid and you didn't wear a mask, and so now you are responsible because you didn't do anything to protect them by wearing a mask. Politicians fear that they will be held responsible if they don't do something and be seen as calloused and lacking in leadership. Business owners held responsible for not putting policies in place that protect their people and their customers, etc, etc....
