St Charles lifted them. Still have to wear on the bus though.

It amazes me that people are still playing these COVID games.

Most in Lafayette have opted out.
Who hasn't? I was told all public schools opted out. Someone here mentioned STM opted out. My kid goes to a MDO affiliated with another private school here and there were no masks there when I dropped her off this morning.

Why is St Tammany having a meeting today to decide if other parishes opted out yesterday?

Lafourche parish lifted the mask mandate last night. Still encouraging mask wearing. We were already following the quarantine guidelines anyway so this was easy and a no-brainer.
We just reverted to our original return to school plan prior to JBE’s mask decree. fricking idiot!

They are in charge of JP schools too and they have allowed them to drop the mask mandate. I’m not sure if crossing the 17th St Canal means the mandate needs to remain.

Nola Catholic schools are sticking with the mask for now because Destroya is a dumb count.

Laffy checking in. It’s a shame because I just bought my son an Affliction face mask.

Today is my son's 12th birthday. I was so happy to drop him off today without that fricking mask.

Lafayette Parish.

Sad that so many of you sent your kids to school for this long wearing a mask.
You obviously don’t believe in it, but you fell in line.
And now that you obeyed they are onto the next thing - vaccines.
DO SOMETHING:
1) Homeschool
Or
2) Get a large group of parents together and all agree to send you kids to school without mask

Caddo Parish still has their mandate. For some reason I'm seeing a pattern here

they haven't formally announced anything as far as I have seen

we shall see

even if they don't, I doubt my daughter's school (SH) will continue with masks, as they certainly stopped masks last spring when the last mandate ended and schools were still supposed to keep masks

How much longer will the stigma of New Orleans is higher class than Metry last? Teedy has done a great job closing that gap.

Didn't take long for Lafayette. Texts were going out before the kids got home from practice.
I have to give the school board some credit. They recently set it up where masks would automatically be optional if/when the governor* lifted the mandate.

Last night St. Bernard Schools announced masks are "highly recommended" but not required for any students, adults, visitors, etc.

Still required on bus due to federal decree.

No matter how much some people want it to happen, the Archbishop is not going to defy the mayor. It's just not going to happen. It is what it is.

Don’t get too uppity. Your “church jeans” don’t count as a suit.

They have tied some of the money a school gets to this mandate. Take the masks off and some funding dissappears.
