Lafayette...and finally maskless.
Daughter wanted to burn hers. While I appreciated her moxie...I advised her to keep it in her booksack in case she has a nutjob activist at her school.

How much longer will the stigma of New Orleans is higher class than Metry last? Teedy has done a great job closing that gap.
I don't know about the overall question, but the Catholic and most private schools are still better in Nola.

My kids are in a faith based private school. They have a mask mandate, but provided permission slips at the beginning of the year if you didn't want your kid wearing one.

Ok and how much longer will those parents put up with the BS that doesn’t occur a couple miles down the road (and probably closer to where they actually live).
When I say BS, I don’t just mean the mask mandate. I mean crime, poor infrastructure, and tyrannical govt to name a few.

Not sure, but this is a question that has been being raised for a good 25 years now. Nothing has changed in that regard yet.

So the last 18mo have not been different? N.O local govt has always been shady as frick but now on top of the shady business that are implementing numerous additional restrictions bc they can with no end in site.
N.O.’s whole identity was built on the principle “laissez fare” and “Laissez les bons temps rouler”. Now they current ruling body is implementing the EXACT OPPOSITE philosophy.

In 2021 if you still live in any parish you don’t care about your kids education or life in general. Choosing to stay in Louisiana amazes me.

That's a very simpleton view. There is this thing we call family that lives near us. Lot's of family and it is bad timing to take a kid out of high school, move away from the one just starting college, giving up on wanting to be near two sets of aging parents, and letting go of the great social life you have with friends.
If I didn't care about all of this, we would move out of state. Private school does a great job for what I need for now with living in this area.

My sons school in Washington Parish called around 5 yesterday and said it was lifted. I didn’t see any teachers with masks this morning but a couple kids had them on.
