Last thurs had mine. Let me just say I was told my experience would be similar to those posting here. It was not. Very painful during procedure on one side. Dr was asking me if it hurt as if he didnt believe me. I started cussing at him after the first cauterization I felt the shock all the way. Felt like he was pulling me out with a warn winch.
I'm still a bit sore but recovering here on day 6. Good luck. I hope your experience is like most here.
God almighty.
Wish you wouldn't have said this. I've been delaying doing it for this reason.
I have this vision of the Dr. ripping a hole in my public plateau with a meathook and gutting me.
Joking right? Yeah, has to be a joke.
Tell me your joking.

I had one in July with a similar experience as rattlebucket's. One side hurt like hell during the procedure, I broke out in a sweat and almost flipped off the table like a fish out of water. Doc stopped and gave me more local and proceeded on, I could still feel it but I just toughed it out. I followed their orders for the recovery and really had no problems, minimal pain and swelling. My bro in law had it done about a year before me and his was like most of the other posters in the thread, quick, easy, and painless. I would not do again but I don't have to

Honestly I don't remember, I had a lot more shite going on in my mind even with the Valium buzz going on. I remember they covered up my area with those surgical pads though, so I guess they just move it to the side that they're not working on

The procedure itself is a breeze. After your initial 24 hour bed rest, take it SLOW. You will bruise, even a week later, if you're not careful.
I've been firing blanks for over a year now.
ETA: I've known the urologist since I was a kid (he and my stepdad were med school/residency pals,) and I knew the hot nurse who prepped my area. I didn't give two shits though. Valium is a hell of a drug!

This hot chick taped mine to my stomach!
Very painless, only thing I felt was the needle when they inject you! Slight discomfort, then no pain, watched sports the weekend with peas!
Not a bad experience at all but....
Damn that needle was huge

This makes an already delicate situation that much more frightening.

I had one about 6 years ago. I found a doctor who would put me to sleep to do it. No pain except for discomfort for a few days. Ate lortabs and sat on the couch. All in all not a bad time.
But whatever you do go back to the follow up appointments to make sure it worked. We now have a 5 year old daughter. Apparently I have super balls and it didn't work. I thought the wife was stepping out on me, so we did a dna test and I'll be damn the baby was mine…which was great because she's the best kid ever. Also kudos to the wife for not caring that I was skeptical.
The wife got her tubes tied after she was born. I told her they only got one shot at my amazing super balls.

Find a doc that does 20 a day and that's all he really does
That's the guy you want touching the boys,
Little bit of discomfort, go home and lie down, keep ice on the boys(they deserve it), don't get up for 2 days and keep the ice on.
Good as new with no issues
It's the dummies that jump up business as usual the next day that have Issues

...so you didn't trust your wife when she said she wasn't cheating on you??
Must be kinda awkward now, you know, with you not trusting her and the DNA test and all?

If your doc will prescribe a valium to take an hour beforehand, take it. And a shot or 2 of bourbon. You won't feel a thing.
You're welcome.

Mine was no needle...was awesome...no pain...had a party to go to that night so I limped around a bit...but 3 days later I was ready for action....

Scary the first time I popped one. Felt no different. No pain. Same amount of spunk came out.

Had mine done 4 years ago. Did it on a Fri afternoon in the Dr. Office and was back at work Mon. AM. Ice them hard. Get a few packs of peas and keep them rotated.
