My old man fought a six month battle with a rat in 80s, the rat caused about 6k in damage and then died under the stairs and house smelled for a year.

We live on a dead end street next to woods. While I never see them during the day, I see at least 2 cats on our ring camera almost every night. They even left a dead mouse for us in the yard. No idea if they’re strays or someone’s outdoor cats, but they hunt around here every night and I hope they stick around. We’ve been here 5 years and haven’t ever seen mice in our house or even in the garage.

cold weather sends them looking for warmer temps.

Had one chew through wires and short out a breaker recently. Didn't end well for that one.

Get bigger traps. I have a couple of small rat traps and they work well. It is almost totally impossible to wipe them out.

One of my two cats is kind of an a-hole. But I wouldn't trade him for the mice and field rats he keeps at bay.

Haven't had a mouse in my place since the first month we moved in 4 years ago.

I used to get them in my house every winter. A couple years ago i bought some stainless steel window screen material and shoved it in the weep holes in my brick. problem solved.

Do yall keep your cats inside or outside?

I have never had a cat. If I get one then how do you keep it outside yet around?

I live in the country, mine are inside/outside cats. They are just like dogs, go to the door when they want out, come to it when they want in.

They are easier to potty/house train than dogs. Cause if there is nothing for them to bury their poop in inside, they'll want to go outside.

Everyone saying you have to not feed them to get them to hunt are wrong.

Maybe for some lazy cats that's true, but all of the ones I've had hunt all the time and they are fed well.

They hunt for the fun of it, Natural Born Killers.

Get a cat. I know, cats is communist (not sure why ppl think that) but they're good a keeping your home free of rodents, unwanted birds, scorpions and small snakes.

the woods behind my house are being cut for a house being built. me and all my neighbors are having rat problems in our attics. I have probably 10 snap traps, an electric trap, and a live trap out. I've killed 6 so far. sounds like a deer running through the attic at night. Never had them before this and been living in this house 14 years.

Seen it on tV, first I’ve ever seen in person. I was at a red light 2 days ago and happened to be looking left, saw a hawk swoop down and land on something in some tall grass. It bit down on it, then flew off. Had a mouse in his talons.

Pretty cool.

Get something like this. Had a mice problem for a few years where we'd catch one, and the next day another would appear. Bought these and haven't seen a mouse since. I believe it was 2018 when we got them.

We have a house up off the ground in the country and mice had become a problem a few years ago. Peppermint oil, sonic repellent plugs, and glue traps along the baseboard between the back door and kitchen. Havent seen evidence of one in at least 18 months. Now…I fear there is a big-arse snake under the porch eating them. But that’s a problem for another day.

We have the little varmints at our camp. The best protection against rodents during the warm months is a nice rat snake.

Glue traps and "Just One Bite" poison control them during winter- but won't stop them from gaining entry....

One Bite. This is the best poison on the market. It will get rid of all of them.
