and a few scummy plaintiff lawyers also have a lot.
Probably Baggett, McCall, Burgess & Watson out of Lake Charles. Not scummy at all. They have one of the biggest firms in the state and nationally known for asbestos cases. They were also the lead on the Louisiana Tobacco suit and got millions off of that. Mr Baggett passed away recently, but he was an LSU alumni as is Robert McCall and Roger Burgess. They have all been big time donors for years.
Bill Baggett played for LSU actually.
quote:
Baggett McCall was deeply saddened by the loss of its founder, William B. “Bill” Baggett on May 20, 2015. Bill passed away at the age of 85. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University, which he attended as an undergraduate on a football scholarship. He was an exemplary athlete, setting an LSU record for the most yardage gained per carry in a single game that stood for forty years, and was inducted into the LSU Hall of Fame in 1989. He graduated from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1953 and founded Baggett McCall in 1958. He successfully represented personal injury clients in numerous cases and was a pioneer in gaining compensation for victims of chemical, asbestos, and benzene exposure. In addition to being an extremely successful attorney he received numerous awards and accolades during his career and was elected by his fellow bar members as President of the Louisiana State Bar in 1980. He was a mentor to many, a friend to all, and a fierce and capable advocate for those who had suffered wrongful injury. He will be missed.

quote: I really don't know what the TAF brings in a year, several 10MM I would assume. You are asking them to increase in a manner or 5% or so to cover all of this. So an increase of 5% is going to raise eyebrows? According to the financials that are readily available on google 2014-2015 the TAF took in a total of 32 million (all time record) with out this 10 million dollar man. prior to that the average was in the low 20 mil. range. there is just not room in the car for all these big time mulimillion donations. While individuals need not be named if they choose not to take the tax deduction, the TAF must still report all proceeds as a non-profit. Deep pockets as a athletic foundation- Yes Single donors giving 10's of millions a whack with regularity -
The money taken in is used as security for debt. TAF is not going to take a few donors money and use for a buyout. It will take what maybe a few donors tell them to do but ANYONE who is a member of TAF or pays a ticket surcharge will pay for this buyout of Miles and any buyout of an existing coach ie...Jimbo.
If anyone thinks their parking pass, surcharge, ticket price won't go up they are whistling Dixoe.

So, who are these LSU graduates that have millions to throw around for shite like this?
They're not paying shite. This will all get funneled down in TAF surcharges until the system breaks because of a shitty hire. Then they'll lose the fanbase and pretty much have to start over.
It generally happens when people can't realize how good they have it.

Who got $350 million out of that?
And I said MANY. I know there are some but to dismiss $350 million as not being insanely wealthy or as he put it "money vs MONEY" is stupid.

I had to get rid of that spare change before the gf hit the black friday sales. Last year she bought 3 private jets. I had to go 4 whole days of not PIIHB after I sold them and made a nice profit.

There's a Raisin' Canes Treehouse Masters and a Raisin' Canes Gas Monkey Garage Cadillac. Why not a new Raisin' Canes LSU Football Coach? They should be filming a realty show about this process to help with the funds.

& she's at more LSU games than she is in Oxford.
I've always wondered how much Havens (Astros), Flores, Odgen, Harrison (Houston Energy), Cazalot (Marathon Oil), etc. give to TAF. They give loads to the academic side and a few have given loads to our new fraternity house.
Cazalot and Flores are some of the wealthiest men in Houston and they're rarely mentioned

Is Canes allowed to use LSU in advertisements?

Nope. Les wears a plain white hat and purple pullover in every promotional item and advertisement I've seen
