Who are these billionaire LSU boosters that are throwing money around?

When discussing that LSU (TAF) would have to pay an extra $3m to let LM go before January, it was pointed out to me that boosters have already put the money up for that and more.
So, who are these LSU graduates that have millions to throw around for shite like this? I would assume that LSU Football is not #1 on their list of charities so the money they must be giving to charity/good causes in general must be staggering.
Or do you think these are people that are not quite as rich, but are spending a significant chunk of their disposable income on Tiger Football instead of academics and other charities?
One of the Chouest kids played b-ball for LSU. Jim Bernhard? Cazalots? Friersons? You have some old timer rich guys that used to give to LSU but I'm not sure if their children do now. (Taylors and the Fatels)

One of them is not an LSU alum and AFAIK never graduated from any college. He made a shite ton of money by getting in on the ground floor of a new industry, and LSU is his hobby. He's kind of shady in the way he does business IYAM, but I guess anybody with that kind of wealth didn't get there by being a boy scout.

you don't need a billion bucks to fund a buyout paid over 8 years that may be reduced if Miles or anyone else on staff gets another job.

I think you underestimate the importance of college football to some people. There's plenty of former athletes that went pro that want to see LSU succeed.

I'm related to one but won't tell you his name. Just know a good hire is coming. He's not a billionaire though. He hired Saban though, and Dinardo.

If you're willing to part with 7 figures to get rid of a respected coach in December instead of January then you've got an insane amount of money.
Let's say you're worth $50 million, with around $5m net coming every year, and you give 1 million for this particular cause. That's still like a regular OT baller giving $10k.
Honestly, do you really think LSU Football is the only charitable cause for anyone? Just imagine how much they are giving in total, if they're willing to give that kind of money for LSU football.

Your analogy implies that someone worth $500k won't give $10k over 5 years.

The money people are a conglomerate of donors there are some prime players but the average donation is around 100,000 or so I am friends with one of these people, also this is not just money there are assets tied up in it as well such as real estate and land holdings
