To me it's Michael Jordan, but I'm also not a fan of Michael Jackson and I follow sports closely

I'd say Jackson..

40 years of performing vs 20 years of playing for Jordan.

and the mtv years made him a world wide phenom.

No. Just no. Beatles invented "pop" music.

Jackson was the king of pop but he didn't invent shite, hell he didnt even invent the moonwalk.

Not sure who was more influential, leaning towards jackson because he is almost as infamous as he was famous. He is so famous, he became in-famous....

In your globe maybe, not the rest of the world. There are soccer players with much more name recognition than Jordan, who plays a game not nearly as popular globally as soccer.

Nah brah you watch too many nike commercials. On the global scale I would say Pele is bigger than Jordan. Everybody plays soccer.
