What exactly do you do for a living?

Part time (20+ hours / week), I am in the field of child and family behavioral health.

I guess we can stop using the term when we stop seeing this type of behavior every other day.

People complain about how unfair it is that these kinds of schools can't get or keep good teachers but this is why.

We all know it has far more to do with socioeconomic status than genetics. Pretty disgusting really. Racism is alive and well in 2015

Are we actually okay with the "dindu" term becoming a racial slur? Because that's absolutely how its being used in numerous threads all over TD. It's not surprising given the demographics of the website though.

Honestly, I am okay with it, as long as people are allowed to call people out for it without fear of being banned for race baiting (i.e., Strong Safety).

With that being said, I have seen more than a few deniers state that "dindu" is not used with a racial context.

What do you think is going to happen when one word in all of Christendom is Verboten...if you are a honkey.

You tell people they can't do something, they'll do it. You make it so they can't, they'll find workarounds.

And is it really so bad? Being called "racist" has lost all it's sting.

And they aren't talking about all black people. They are talking about the subset that ruins neighborhoods and schools and is responsible for a majority of the violent crime. Why do people defend that sort?

Call them thugs. Miscreants. Ne'er-do-wells. It doesn't matter. They are the dregs.

Well sure it has some connotations...but I've definitely seen forms of it used for white trash.

Weren't you the one who made the joke that a white kid who fits that description should be called a "Didnt-do-anything".. At least own it up to it man -- there is a very obvious implication there.

You obviously missed the joke.

Look, differnent people have differnent manners of speech.

You don't see people getting bent out of shape when someone posts

Instead of LOL.

Or if someone mocks Canadians, or mexicans, or Indians. French. Germans. Russians, etc.

Everyone should be open to mockery and ridicule.

"Dindu-Nuffin" is parsed directly from video clips of black mothers defending their criminal thug sons. Don't blame the world because they talk that way. It doesn't make it "racist" to point something out.

We shouldn't really expect anything better than this. They didn't ask to come to civilization, after all.

Because he's been banned numerous times for the same things. And he promises to stay away from any threads that have even a hint of racism. He does well for a while. Then, he gets caught up in the middle of them and tries to walk the line, and ends up getting banned.

I'm just trying to give him a heads up.

Ugh. You're right.

The thing is I'm actually being the opposite of racist. I'm on the same side as tangerine on that issue. I acknowledge it for what it is. I dislike the broad brush statements of many.

Keep it topical. Keep it true.

I'm angry at what has been done to those communities to turn them into cesspools.

Doesn't mean I think the cesspools are good.

I know. But there is already a Help thread asking for admins to address racism in this thread. I don't believe you've been racist. But I know that if you've already been earmarked in the past, right or wrong, it's probably best to avoid these threads once the admins have been called. Just looking out for you.
