Life was good for me in 1988. My wife was expecting my 2nd son and we still got along at the time. We had 2 really good incomes and money was not a problem. Economy was booming. Had a new house on the bay. I was 33 at the time.

I was 7. At that age the highlight of my life was riding my bike to K&B after school for snacks.

Shreveport had a race riot in 1988. The police were ordered to stand down as the mob burned stores, fired shots, and threw bricks at police and
firefighters.
Some things never change.

We'd been married for 2 years and were still a few months away from my daughter being conceived. She's now 32. Holy shite, how time flies.

I turned 6 in June 1988 and got a Nintendo, so I was probably playing Duck Hunt or Super Mario Bros. After tball, I spent the rest of the summer in Greene County, AL usually spending the day hanging out at the Stockyard with my Grandad; I hauled a shite load of rocks in that gravel parking lot with a little truck I had

Let's see...on this day in 1988 I'd have been playing American Legion Baseball after my senior year. That's a double off the wall at UNO, bros...
I was dating a girl who was 2 years older, which had its perks.
I'd have likely gone to see Bull Durham once or twice by now.
I loved old music then, so I'd have still been listening to that sort of stuff. Beatles, Billy Joel, Cheap Trick, Journey, etc.
do remember this one time while heading to a Legion game at an away field and there were three full cars of our guys headed to it and we all ulled up at a Stop light and we must have all had on the same station, and the song that was playing was Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Lepard and every time it got to the chorus we all stuck our arms out of the windows and did this pouring move. No idea why that stuck with me, but it did.
