If you are going to Athens a bunch...

Homewood suites in the village of Providence.

Or the Springhill suites across the street.

Westin at Bridgestreet is supposedly nice, but traffic would get old

Embassy downtown, there are a few bars nearby. Further drive to Athens though

Embassy Suites is your nicest option if you are renting a large number of rooms for everyone

Bridge street, Downtown Embassy on Big Spring Park or Providence are all good. The most central is the Embassy if you're going to be in Huntsville proper.

The Space and Rocket Center is OK, a bit out of date.

Eta. Sorry, missed the Athens part. Go with Providence. A few good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Downtown has a bit more entertainment.

1406 McClung SE or 1516 Big Cove Rd SE In Huntsville. If those houses were good enough for a reconstituted Nazi rocket scientist, they are good enough for you.

Just knock on the door and ask whomever answers if they want to "make $20 a day for the next week the hard way".

Bomar Inn in Athens, it's a real classy place.
