Plenty of good beer pubs and breweries right around downtown for you and the kids to enjoy.

And constantly getting worse. I used to work down there every day and it was alright but then they tore my gym down on post oak to build the high rise...then they tore down my go to restaurant for lunch to build another high rise. Eff the galleria.

When I moved to Houston I didn't know anything about the city. I moved to the galleria area because I figured I wanted to be walking distance to Big Woodrow's. Thankful I was on a Katrina refugee friendly month to month lease. Lasted there 90 days and got the frick out that part of town.

Downtown. Restaurants and fun bars. Take a über or cab to midtown if you want to day drink and go out. Where all the yuppies are. 21-45

Galleria- tons of restaurants. Galleria mall.Nightlife is lacking.

Rice village- bars, restaurants, and shopping. College bars- well when I used to go to college I went here.

I would stay downtown. If you want to go shopping and out to eat in the galleria, just drive out there. You can dine and party in downtown and midtown.

lol that is what I thought too.

there is a new JW Marriott in downtown, on main street. I would look into that. It is brand new hotel.

It just isn't a walkable area at all IMO. Everything is spread out down there and Westheimer, Richmond, Chimney Rock etc are all wide as shite roads with long blocks. It takes a while to walk anywhere around there because it isn't laid out like city blocks
