You think I like having a sensitive gut? I'd love to bring coffee in the deer stand in the morning. Ain't gonna happen. I'd love to be able to eat somewhere and not have to plan it so I have a bathroom close by as soon as I'm done.

IBS along with being lactose intolerant is not a fun way to go through life

There was a study that came out last year IIRC that said that if you've ever had food poisoning, sometimes the foods you eat after may be similar enzyme or chemical make up to the food that made you sick. This chemical tricks your brain into thinking the food needs to be evacuated with the quickness. That could be the cause of some peoples issue.

Made the mistake of eating Mexican in Epcot before I took a 12 hour bus ride back home. And the cheerleaders sat right in the back of the bus next to the bathroom. Which I would've sucked it up and made them deal with it, but the bus driver said #1 only because the toilet wouldn't flush.

I'll never understand how I didn't get a hemorrhoid from that. Probably because I was only ~17-18 at the time.
Imagine being awake on a bus ride for 12-hours
Now imagine trying not to shite yourself the entire time.

Serious question: How old are you? That is not meant as part of a joke or to ridicule you.

Glad this thread was started... I now have a safe place to discuss my medical issues

The past two weeks or so, my stomach has been jacked up.. no matter what I eat, 20-25 min after, i have discomfort in my stomach that makes me have to go to the bathroom.. my stool has been soft as hell but not runny and tbh it smells way worse than it used to.. I'm almost 30 now, is this something that older guys deal with on a daily basis or is it something else?

The only thing I can think of is that over the holidays I quit taking my anxiety/panic attack medication that I was on for about a year or so... nothing else has changed as far as my diet is concerned

Can't believe I just talked about my poop on TD, sorry y'all

Why do people say this as opposed to "shite ON myself"?? I've heard "I peed myself". NO you peed ON yourself.

Hibachi almost always gives me diarrhea not long after I eat it. Probably because its so greasy. You probably either have a meh diet and are just used to eating shitty foods, or dont eat shitty foods.

Or maybe some foods just dont sit well with certain people.

Certain people can have food sensitivities.

In addition, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is pretty common. I don't think they know the exact cause of it.

Personally, I believe its at least partially because we're narrowing down the biome of our digestive system through processed/sugary foods and antibiotic use. Not many people know that you have more bacteria in your digestive system than you have of your own cells in your body.

I'm 27 and was diagnosed last year with a low functioning gallbladder. It was functioning in the teens, so I went ahead and had it removed at the earliest opportunity. I'm not overweight, but until then, I never really watched what I ate. Probably got so bad due to years of abusing fast food and junk food.

Most people will say that you don't need a gallbladder and there is no long term diet you will have to follow post-surgery or any noticeable changes to your digestion afterwards. In my case this wasn't exactly true. I found myself running to the bathroom about 30 minutes to an hour after eating the first meal of the day every day. I could eat a large pizza by myself for dinner and not have any problems. I just had to be near a bathroom after I ate lunch. They say this is due to the bile that now continuously leaks into your intestines acting as a laxative in some people. I take a pill to mop up excess bile and for the most part, that problem is resolved although I still get my fair share of gas, bloating, and belching after eating certain foods. I don't believe for a second that not having a gallbladder hasn't impeded my digestion in some fashion. If I eat a large fried chicken breast, there is no reservoir of bile that releases a large amount at a time to help digest the fat. Instead, there's a slow trickle which cannot possibly be enough to adequately digest some foods. It is pretty well manageable though. I still pretty much eat what I want though I've cut back on at least the Chinese food (for lunch), fast food, and junk food. I worry about complications later on down the line and nutritional deficiencies that result from poor digestion, but there's not a lot I can do now so I just hope for the best.

In your case, could be that, but it could be a lot of other things too. Doctors want to chalk everything up to IBS at first glance, especially for young people. Anti-anxiety medication can lessen IBS symptoms.

My MIL has to plan her outings with the meal being the very last thing. Then it is a sprint to the car and a high speed drive back to her house. She does not use public restrooms.

A friend's dad has the same issue as MIL. He dares not eat something while even out in his yard. He has a bad hip and he can't hurry. He has shite his pants while trying to rush to the terlette....
