Yes, I did some searching and learned some cool things. I've never seen that before! Thanks! And I apologize, didn't mean to treat you like Wiki.

It's cool. I had quite a bit of experience hosting/logging into BBSs ages ago, but others could give a good perspective on it.

It was around 1993 or so but I don't remember a lot about it (LSU days) I remember a DOS screen and us downloading pics that took forever and a few BBS's then about a year later we got AOL and that was like a brave new world.

Question for people that used Internet in the early 90s - what search engine did you use to search for nudes and what not? Was there even a concept of search engines or did you have to pretty much know the URLs you wanted by heart?

When I started, you had to know URL's till AOL came out. Then the world open up along with speed. Before AOL, it was really a pain in the arse to get around along with being real slow. Like forever to down load anything.

1996/early 97

I think the first thing I searched was news about SW re-release in theaters.

Sometime in the 90's. Big cow patterned box in the kitchen when I got home from school one day. Talking to friends on the other side of town on AOL instant messager blew our minds.

1984 was the first time I used a computer, I was a manager for Radio Shack, we had to send in our daily reports. It cant be called the internet. After that it was late nineties, I would troll religious chat rooms.

Pearl Jam "Black" came out in 1992(I think) and I was online then trying to download that shite illegally.

I would start the download and then go to bed hoping and praying I didn't get booted off during the night.

Had to of been around mid 90s. I'll never forget that damn instant message sound. We trolled chatrooms and searched for nudes of Sandra Bullock.

I'll never forget when we first got cable internet. I asked the install guy "so where do I go to log on" and he said "you don't need to anymore" it was a WTF moment. It was so fast.

we got a Packard Bell in 1991 from Best Buy in Kansas and it was about $3,000. It had a 300 MB hard drive and Windows 3.0

MS Paint and Wolfenstein 3D were the only programs I used

the first computer I got that was "mine" was in 1998. It was a Dell, $2,400. 300 Mhz Pentium II, 6.4GB HD, 64 MB of RAM, 56k modem. CD/DVD. Bought my first DVD, Dumb and Dumber, a week later, cost 25 bucks

Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior were played often
