Freshman year I got my first email account and used IRC to visit chat rooms related to hockey.

I was in 5th grade, so
I guess 1996ish. We were at EPCOT and they had a section (I think it was called innoventions or something like that) with a bunch of computers all set up to get the internet. I remember my dad went to theadvocate.com and I went to the only website I knew of: ty.com.... That was during my beanie baby phase and I just remember the address on the tags.

I got a 300 baud modem on my Atari 800XL and was dialing up bulletin boards for downloads in 1983, I think. I got a Compuserve account shortly after that and used their version of chat rooms. They called their chat rooms CB Channels and each channel had a theme. There were no graphics.

1989 here too; waited with a friend for images of Ginger Lynn to load on the screen. Each one took about 2 minutes.

You from BR? There are a few of us on here who used to frequent the local BBSes.

Christmas 1997. We got a Gateway, which I remember because "Santa" left that huge cow-patterned box on the porch. Naturally, Internet was through dial-up and AOL at the time. My mom actually still refuses to get a new e-mail or use a browser, so we're still paying for it..... /

1992. We had prodigy and a 15.6k modem. I worked hard, saved my pennies and upgraded to a 56k modem a year or so later.
