The comedy writer thing would be fun (stolen from SFP)

My undergrad degree is in Archaeology, primarily LA native tribes. Did a summer course at Texas AnM in underwater archaeology and spent 6 weeks diving in the Med.

Then I sold out and went to law school...

Is that you dad?? that was his argument for law school.

If you want to study things not in the written record (most of our history)then you have to dig it up. Its a fascinating field.

There are commercial archaeologist that do required surveys prior to construction, that's the only non academia application I know of.

Honestly, most of you would do a good enough job that you wouldn't want to do it for cheap very long.

So you'd be cool with doing something for a long period of time without advancing and getting better compensation? You and I have different ideas of happiness.

there is actually research indicating that we find happiness with our work by finding an advanced level of competency

much more certain than "doing what we love" for a living

If I had the opportunity I'd love to restore old furniture. Make furniture. Love woodworking.

Full time musician.

I'd also be happy a stay at home dad. Though I need to give a sugar momma to make that dream work out. But I'd have that smoker fired up 3-4 days a week.
