Getting up there. For the record, I was in my early 20's and 5'10" 170lbs at the time. Have a history of high BP in the family, but who doesn't?

Now on bp meds and am in the 120s / low '80s. Dropped 25 lbs and am planning to quit the bp meds as I continue to lose even more.

190/120.

Damn machine needed repair. Near had a stroke.

As a nurse the highest I saw we checked with a cuff and stethoscope. BOTTOM number was 240. I do not know the top number as the sphygmomanometer only goes to 320. At that level inflated I could still hear the pulse. The needle actually goes above 320 still heard pulse. So we are talking over 340.

I survived but my faith in the medical profession was destroyed. I was an HMO member. My former cardiologist was rationing care, and I was left with untreated hypertension. A miracle I survived. I was always athletic,5k runs, ran a lot. Prolly that and God's protection saved me. I hated HMO because it caused a significant change in doctor/patient relationship. Some doctor's were more interested in protecting the HMO's bottom line instead of looking out for the patient. Granted, not all cardiologist are crooks. Most are decent, but there are a few really bad people in the medical profession. I found one of the bad ones.

I almost died because of HMO with their stupid managed care and rationing. As bad as HMO was, obamacare is 100 times worse. I can see the trend now.

Just wait, obamacare will catch up with you, or your parents or grandparents.

No clue, we were at dinner. I was on my second margarita and said I felt funny.
Started sweating. Short or breath. Honestly thought I was dying.

We happened to be 1 min away from Earl K. I was laying on a bed being questioned about what drugs I took bc they had no other explanation.

After blood work came back clean I was surrounded by 5 doctors.

Followed up with a cardiologist and ran the mill of tests. No answers other than a healthy bill.

The at home test machines are so wrong. I go from 145/95 to 130/80 in a matter of minutes.

mine is high, I don't treat it.
My nurse neighbor told me to go to the ER when she read it.

I know when I took a flight physical I had to have my BP checked so I took the exam on Viagra and Nitroglycerin.

Found out that's a bad mix. Felt weird, but passed physical. I guess I need to go to a doctor before I have a stroke.

Dammit, more info for my stalker to compile, but oh well.

You really should get it treated. I am normally a guy who avoids the doctor but since i have gotten blood pressure medication I feel so much less anxiety and stress through the day. It is cheap, improves the quality of your life, and adds years to your life. Go for it.
