Bummer that you feel that way.

i'm not saying there is anything wrong with it. it's just strange to me that praying to a saint to ask him to pray for you to Jesus might be considered more potent than just praying to Jesus. is Jesus swayed by popular opinion on a subject?

Most of this board probably went to a private Christian School.

Me right here, evolution was a hot topic in grade school I feel like, but they never said anything against it.

Immediately withdraw my child from the Branch Dividian Elementary School.

You're obviously not a religious person. Why do you care what it is that we believe? Does it actually have any type of affect on your life one way or another?

To be quite honest. I support gay marriage but if my child were forced to kiss another child in any way in a school setting I would be livid.

Children do not need that kind of education.

yes. it's part of the world around me and i'd like to know more about it. if you don't like discussing your religion, let someone else more versed do it for you.

Dinosaurs: Genesis and the Gospel

Literally nothing on that quiz has interpretations made from the Gospel.

I really don't understand these so called fundamental Christian schools that focus so much on the Old Testament. It's like they forgot the whole new covenant. Yet they pick a choose which OT teachings are core. Why be so adamant about dinosaurs in creationism yet not practice the dietary laws in Leviticus?

THIS!

No Christian follows Levitical laws. Hell no person follows them all anymore.

Yet instead the focus on the one chapter that reads more like a fairy tale than a book of scripture.

Not sure if this is still on subject or not, but my answer is this:
quote:

From a "private religious school", according to Snopes. Therefore, if you don't approve, then take your kid out of that school. Free market is a wonderful thing

Well, Levetican law was to a different group of people, while the creation of the world was obviously not. Plus, creationism is pretty much a mandatory to be a Christian. If that's a lie, it sort of puts everything else in the trash

Free market is a wonderful thing...unlike the government model that forces kids to go to a certain school, whether a good or shitty one, merely because of where that kid resides.

basic education for young kids should not be a free market issue.

I agree. However in this situation, it is a private school, and the parents have every right to take their kids elsewhere.

Maybe God created everything to look like it all evolved so the faithless would have something to be smug about further condemning their reprobate status?

False

Intelligent design is also bunk. I read an article by a priest that talked about how the presence of vestigial structures in the human body disproves the theory. That doesn't make it dogma, but it shows a very well educated Christian can recognize these things.

The Old Testament is a collection of Jewish Parables and History. So once again I don't understand why conservative/fundamental Christian groups so heavily focus their teaching around the OT.

I agree, but I would like to think kids get enough of an education, regardless of the school, to be able to transition easily into a secular environment. I can only imagine what else those kids are taught...gonna be pretty confused at some point.

Have you ever thought that maybe its the "secular environment" that's the problem?
