I'd rather a sedan than a coupe.

Would you like to donate an extra 10K for the cause?

For a off the lot car I'd disagree. What's your idea of beast?

In a world where a Dodge sedan is offered with 707hp stock, 333hp doesn't seem beastly.

Not knocking the S4, I'm sure it's a great car.

The hell cat is 80K and I'm not sure I want to spend that much on an M3 either. I was looking at the 335. I think I'm going to go test drive one this weekend.

Drive a 5 as well. I think you'll be surprised how much more quality they put into 5. Everything is better. That's why I suggested the A6, I'm sure it's a similar jump.

.

The only 5s I've seen are coupes. I'm assuming that's the only way the come?

We love ours. If you can get an A6 3.0 with a 6 speed manual I'd jump on it if I were you. I'm not sure BMW offers it in their 5 anymore. The manual in our 5 is the slickest piece of engineering I'll ever own. So damn fun.

Had a 335i coupe for several years, loved the car. One of the best I have ever owned.

$500 will give you the same power as the M3, but the M3 overall is the better car.

I'm not worried about the kids. I don't like the coupe look on the S5.

Can you get the A6 with the S-line trim? A friend just got a 7 that way, all blacked out trim and cool rims, but it's not all the way to an S.

You even thinking about buying one with a clutch?

I like that look as well. I'm looking for one slightly used so the options out there aren't plentiful.

When we bought our 5 they had already discontinued what I wanted, so I had to buy CPOed as well. Searched the country for months and finally found one at a dealer in New Jersey. Flew there and drove it back 1400 miles. If it ever gets wrecked I will literally cry.

Naturally aspirated inline 6 with a 6 speed manual. I put Z rated tires on it, which is funny for a <250hp car, but damn it's so linear and solid you can really hang it out.

Buy something you love, and don't jump until you find it. Once you do...push all of your chips in..

A6 isn't offered in manual, but the S4 is.

OP said the extra space that the A6 offers isn't that important. If thats the case, the S4 is the easy choice here. An A6 3.0 with S line package is going to be a lot more money and less fun to drive.
