Baltimore?

The Fed Hill area is fun, but that's about it.

1. Charleston, SC
2. Boulder, CO
3. Wilmington, NC
4. Monterey, CA
5. Jackson Hole, WY

That's about it for me.

These three would make my top ten for sure. I would live in Sitka if the winters were a bit cooler. They get more rain than snow in winter.

Add

Juneau
Haines, AK
Stanley, Idaho
Sandpoint, Idaho
Joseph, Oregon
Bend, Oregon
Talkeetna, AK

if you can handle liberals in droves, Durango is a no brainer. I'd move there in a heartbeat if I could find a decent career. it's out there, but they do have a small regional airfield that flies to Denver

eta: La Plata I believe is the name

San Diego
San Francisco
Austin
Portland
Boston
Charleston
Salt Lake City
Nashville
Washington D.C.

Off the top of my head, no order. I only considered places with at least 100,000+ people... If we're talking about ANY city, the list would take much more time/thought, but it would better reflect my true list.

Go to Chena Hot Springs, NE of the city. I was in Fairbanks a couple of years ago in summer and couldn't believe how dead the downtown area had become. Silver Gulch Brewery (and Restaurant) was pretty good.

Chena Hot Springs is pretty awesome. Northern Lights are guaranteed and the Ice Museum is pretty cool.

I'll do 5, assuming that my salary would scale with cost of living.

1. Washington DC
2. Denver, CO
3. New Orleans, LA
4. Austin, TX
5. Madison, WI

Thanks! Silver Gulch Brewery was on my list. Do you think I'll see the Northern Lights if I'm there for 3 nights?

If the sky is clear, damn good chance. It usually is up there but it's been an unusual winter.

Use this site, it projects several days out the aurora activity. LINK
