at home:
Cajun Melt: Manda Cajun Turkey, pepperjack cheese, hogs head cheese, italian dressing, honey mustard, sweet relish, and cheery tomatoes pressed between toasted bread on a sandwich press. Doing so traps the ingredients inside, so the hogs head cheese (which when heated turns to liquid) cannot flow all over the place.

out:
Inga's Best or steak sandwich
Chicken Carbanara or Philly Cheese Steak from Quiznos

Shop rite in Natchitoches, or just some cup ramen. Plenty of ham/cheese and PB&J sandwiches.

save-more meat market
only place I know of where you could get a 3' long po-boy filled to the top with shrimp, catfish or oysters for under $10.

When I was at LSU in the late 50's, there was a 'restaurant' called Cosmos at the bottom of the hill in TigerTown. You could get something they called 'Shrimp Étouffée" there for a dime. What you got was a bowl of rice that was sorta pinkish in color - sometimes there wold even be a small bit of something that you could imagine to be bit of shrimp.

I ate there more often than I'd like to recall - but I was in better shape than the students who worked there for the meals.

Andrew's on government street is pretty similar in that regard, but Save-More definitely gave you a ton for your money. The only reason I didn't get food there more often was the long wait. Their pork chop sandwich was also legit.
