depending on how you define "US", the domestic winners of these threads talk about time on the res

No doubt. I'm assuming the dude who said Bismarck wasn't talking about the Res. If he was I take back everything I said. He's absolutely right. A Lakota Res is HoE.

can I add Port Arthur to my list?

a town of nothing but oil refineries and traffic, trashy people, awful food, people openly offended at me for running, etc

I spent a good 3 months there it was pretty hellish

very solid choice

it combines so much of rural ghetto that it's one of the best examples

Coushatta res is nothing compared to those Warrior tribes that still resent the hell out of the US like Lakota.

I went out in Bismarck and a few Lakotas rolled up like they were from Compton. They HATE whites.

I had a horrifying conversation with a pregnant local chick about how girls in that town try to get pregnant by any man they see not wearing FRCs

I quote "he didn't work in the refineries, he was an accountant or something, no FRCs, so I made sure I talked him out of a condom"

oh yeah i wasn't trying to say i've been on "the res"

just saying that's about the only native area i've ever been to

those places out west and in the southwest are nightmare fuel

I drove through a few reservations in AZ and honestly they didn't look that much worse than most remote desert towns (at least from the road).

The area from Tallulah to Lake Providence, which includes Transylvania, is pretty damn depressing.

I can see that if you're just passing thru. Or if you live there and you're black and/or poor. However that area is pretty awesome if you know it/the people. Laid back cool folks for the most part. Lots of money, partying, phenomenal hunting/fishing, badass oxbows, etc. The Delta is my favorite part of LA.

Has anyone been to Andrews, Texas? It's like 30 minutes northwest of Midland-Odessa. Nothing grows higher than 12 inches, and its mostly brown dust. Most of the houses are hovels, and its the harshest environment possible.

I'll cast another vote for Port Arthur, Texas, as well. Ever since whatever hurricane tore that place up about 10 years ago, whatever redeeming qualities were there were ruined. It's all ghetto, abandoned hurricane damaged buildings/shacks, and petro-chemical refineries.
