Sowela is probably more important to the region that McNeese. Can't close Solwela, especially with the concentration of refineries & Chennault in the area.

A lot of the community colleges have two year shite like nurse techs or whatever, and they usually have feeder programs supporting programs at larger universities. BRCC has a bunch of programs dedicated to transitioning into LSU programs

I'd close:

LSU-E
LSU-S
LSU-S-HSC

SUNO
SU-S

Grambling
Northwestern
Only keep ULM pharmacy program, buy moved somewhere

Selectively close or expand the community colleges around the state. Some of them provide vital, very affordable trade school experience also (LA Tech colleges)

Any and all Southerns -- give BRCC Southern's campus

SELU
Nicholls -- Make these CCs. LSU and UNO should be able to handle SE LA

Merge:
Tech, ULM
NWSU, LSUS

Click link below for objective college rankings in Louisiana.

LINK

I would shut down SLU, McNeese, or La Monroe before Nicholls.

To Quote from site:

StateUniversity.com uses many different measures in determining the rank of a particular school. The most important factors are a school's ACT/SAT scores, its student retention, faculty salary, and student / faculty ratio.

- Nicholls St roll any good programs into McNeese

No way pal. Nicholl's is not going anywhere if they let the schools performance speak for itself.

Merge LSUS-Tech-ULM, and put some of the saved funding into BPCC. That's the best solution for the Shreveport area imo.

If it was up to me:

Close LSU-E

Close LSU-A, LSU-S, SU-S and merge them with Northwestern State (its a neutral location ground)

Close SUNO, Gram State, (graduation rates speak words)

Close Nicholls. The students can choose to go to ULL,SLU,or UNO

Merge ULM and LA Tech

Keep McNeese St, LSU-BR,LSU-Health NOLA, LSU-Health S, LSU Law, SUBR,SU-Law,ULL, and UNO

I wouldnt shut down Community Colleges. But I would Merge BRCC and RPCC.

Probably the one that is costing the most, and has the highest paid coaching staff that can't win their division.

Nunez CC does a lot of good in the area especially for the refineries, but it could easily be merged in with Delgado.

Quite honestly, you could merge all of the 2 year schools into a single institution. Or, at least into 3 or 4 regional institutions.

But we definitely don't need to LSU Health schools

Do you understand that both of those schools staff two of the larger hospitals in the state? Plus, do you really only want 150 medical students a year coming out of the LSU system?

My choices here. Close them or at least covert them to a two year school.

LSUA
LSUE
LSUS

The entire Southern system.

Grambling
Nichols
McNeese
Northwestern State
SLU
ULM

Most of the CC system.

Those should either be closed or made into 2 year schools.

Doesn't UL-M have a really god construction program?

Also, Shreveport is also the 3rd biggest city in Louisiana w/ a population of 200,000 (metro 445,000). It needs to have a 4 year university.
