If you google False Widows and think the pattern looks different, know that their patterns can not only vary from specimen to specimen, but also vary on which way the light hits it. I had one that I photographed several times a while back, and every time I took a flash photo, the pattern looked slightly different.

Don't let it bite you. You'll end up with the dreaded 4 hour boner...

What area do you live in? I never see brown widows around the house. I do see brown recluse.

Slidell. All summer long, I'll get 2-4 under the windowsills on my back porch and between the screens and windows. I burn off the webs with a fireplace lighter and fry the spiders, and in a few weeks I have a new crop.

Nah.

I see maybe 5 wolf spiders in my house a week. Killed one in the bathroom this morning. Sometimes I let them live.

You're confusing false black widows with false widows, baw.

Found an egg sac. Looks like around 10 eggs in a ball of fuzz.

"Pillow spider" is its nickname . It loves to hide in southern warm climates under linen & come out when the lights are off . Obviously derived from its fav hiding place , under your head

Steatoda triangulosa

All spiders are venomous in the USA except family Uloboridae. Almost all are of little or no medical significance to humans. Be a grown man and put it outside to eat mosquitoes and other vermin.

Generally to me a spider I can't identify is a dead spider, especially if it has a fat abdomen.
