Back segment is too round for a brown recluse. Not a brown widow either. Need a better picture.

These f'ers always say "brown widow" and "brown recluse". That spider is neither. This is a brown widow:

The picture is not that great, but I think it might be a hobo spider. If it is a large spider, may be a house spider.

Here's the hobo spider:

The OP needs to know what happens if he doesn't torch it.

You know what you need to do, OP. Time's ticking.

It's a false black widow. Still venomous though.

It's def a brown widow.

Front legs longer than other legs and those dark places at the leg joints.

Here's you a wikihow on it. Go on and flip him over if you are feeling daring.

WikiHow 3 Ways to Identify a Brown Widow

ETA: I guess it could be a house spider too. IT would just be a dead spider if it were in my possession.

that picture is much better - you can see that the legs are relatively short. I would say that it is a false black widow though the legs are kind of short.

They rarely bite if it is and the bite is painless, though there will be some reaction later.

How big is the spider?

No telling how many hours I put into that game during the mid 90s.

Though the picture is bad, it doesn't seem like a brown widow. The abdomen pattern is too subdued. And, he can flip it over for the hourglass (put it in a glass jar).

These are brown widow abdoments.

About to have to dump him. He's building a web to try to escape.

At that size, it would be an immature brown widow which would really have a distinctive abdomen pattern. It has no such pattern.

Definitely not a Brown Widow. I catch/kill LOTS of Brown Widows around my house. They look nothing like that.

The patter on this one definitely resembles the one on a false widow
