Headed to the nation's capital this weekend for the Saints/Redskins game. Don't have much time for site seeing so what do we absolutely have to see and what can we skip?

Also, any good bars around the Verizon Center or Fed Ex Field?

Ride the metro, it will take you to all the site seeing spots. You could knock them out in a day.

You should probably hit up TGI Fridays, celebrate with a post dinner brew at McFaddens, and head to the Hilton for the night.

The Spy Museum is within walking distance of the Verizon Center and is one of the best museums in DC. It isn't free like Smithsonian but is definitely worth the ticket.

If you are a history fan you may like seeing the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

As far as museums, the National Air and Space Museum is fantastic.

Vietnam wall and Korean Memorial. Lincoln Memorial and Washington monument. Arlington and tomb of the unknown would be at the absolute top of my list.

There is absolutely nowhere to drink around the stadium unless your are tailgating.

The metro drops you off within a mile (15 minute walk at most to the stadium).

As for the Saints jersey, you probably will not have any issues. Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys, yeah, but other minus the Steelers, we don't really care.

As for what to see, it really depends on what you like. I always say a visit to Iowa Jima is nice quick visit, along with just walking the mall.

Where you staying, that way we can recommend places close.

My hotel is in Landover about a mile away from the stadium.
Flying up there Friday morning. We have the day to go site seeing then going to the Capitals game that night.
Saturday we are going to the Navy game then headed back to the city for the Wizards game.
Sunday will be the Redskins game then try to find somewhere to watch football after the game, maybe the T.G.I.Fridays.
Monday we are flying back

Rooftop bar at the W hotel next to the White House. Great views at night.

Also, rent kayaks in Georgetown. Bring a flask. Paddle down to the airport and enjoy the views of the city while planes buzz right over your head while landing.

The stairs from The Exorcist are also in Georgetown. Get drunk and fall down these stairs.
