I think the bigger difference is that one is against company policy while the other is not.

How would that change this? The government isn't drug testing him. Businesses that actually make money are.

They are drug testing him because it's illegal. If alcohol were still illegal, they'd test for that, too.

Which is the why one is tested for per company policy and one is not. Going in circles here..

If Entergy won't hire him, I'm sure Cox would welcome him to come work for them

Christ, people. don't apply for jobs that drug test if you don't want to be drug tested.

I think that's what the young man is trying to figure out.

If they hair test, he won't apply. I can agree with that logic. If someone quits smoking weed because they want to start a new career or something, what business is it of the new employer to look at what you were doing 3-6 months ago?

Just my two cents but people can, and do, get their shite together on occasion.

Real shite, some of you in this thread need to take yourselves down just a tad. Someone smoking a little bit of weed doesn't make them the fricking devil. (Not responding to you in particular TH, you're cool people).

Its easier to think about all the bums you know who smoke weed and judge them based on that.

There are plenty of white collar professionals who smoke regularly, but they aren't frick ups, so no one really knows that they do it.

I try to concentrate on what I can do to better myself as opposed to worrying about what someone else is doing.

I've been on both sides of the street though. Most people go through life without facing any real hardship so they feel that they can freely judge others who may not have had it as easy.

If you have to ask, don't apply. They don't need your kind I the business.

It's the OT, everyone is worried more about what everyone else is doing than what they are doing themselves.

What's "his kind" if you wouldn't mind elaborating? Since you know him intimately and all.

Might want to check that spelling as well. I'd hate for your employer to see such an egregious error and fire you for being so inept.

Similar cognitive effects. I'd definitely recommend any potential, future employer take a look into his activities for the past 3 months or so even though he wasn't paid for that time.

Are YOU fricking high? If pot is legalized they will more than likely still test for it. We had sites in Colorado that had to send out emails reminding everyone that weed on a drug test will still be a terminating offense.

I would bet 99% it's urine

I couldn't imagine Entergy using resources for hair tests like some of the major players in O&G. That's just my thought though

Every drug test I have taken has had a screen for alcohol as well.
